He has 40 successful years experience, in Ireland and the UK, in
the catering business, managing everything from guesthouses, pubs, to
large hotels and outside catering events. He has won several awards both
nationally and internationally and is well regarded in the industry.
Between 1994 and 2006, Ken owned and ran "Buggy's Glencairn Inn", in
Lismore, Co. Waterford.
The inn was praised in many magazines and newspapers, from America’s
Gourmet Magazine and the LA Times to the UK’s Daily
Telegraph, the Guardian, the SUNDAY TIMES, The Observer, the
INDEPENDENT, Decanter Magazine, Country Living Magazine, Food and Wine
magazine (May 2005), the Dubliner Magazine (May 2005) and the IRISH
TIMES and the Irish Independent.
Ken has also appeared on Rick Stein's
Food Heroes series on BBC.
In 2002 Buggy's Glencairn Inn won the "Good Hotel Guide" Cesar award for
best place to stay in Ireland and was short listed as one of the 10 best
places to stay in Britain & Ireland.
